Resolute Eagle Tie

The White House Tie features the American bald eagle from the Presidential Coat of Arms carved in the kneehole panel of the Resolute Desk used by several recent presidents in the Oval Office. The desk, a gift to President Rutherford B. Hayes from Queen Victoria in 1880, was made from timbers rescued from the British Ship HMS Resolute.
